Most big hospitals have at least one sort of restaurant in them, besides their cafeteria. We have a really tasty sandwich shop in ours. But I'm sure one or both of us will want to get "off campus" a time or two. I love the breakfast place that I went to with Snow & Tina last September...oh my god, it was delicious.
Agreed. Wait till Aaron is resting comfortably and take your $8 to the nearest ... I don't know, what do they have in Colorado? In and Out Burgers?
Ooh, yes, peanuts. Did I tell you I met Jimmy Carter's cousin working at a bookstore in Plains? We had to stop there and be tourists one year on our drive to Florida, because my gram and great aunt had such hard-ons for Jimmy Carter. I had no idea so many things could be made of the image of a peanut shell with Jimmy Carter's smile til I went there.
The scary part of hail in this part of the country is that hail usually = tornadoes. And when hail is described as anything bigger than an ice cube or AAA battery it should be classified as “ice meteorites.” Because that’s what they fucking feel like.
The biggest fruitcake bakeries are indeed in Georgia. I think I once read that the two biggest are in the same town. And we are also famous for Vidalia onions. We are the sweet onion capital. And of course there are also nuts. Peanuts, pecans, etc. The area of Georgia I was in is where all of the pecan farms are. I don’t even know if I’ve ever seen a peach farm in GA.
Not being a fruitcake aficionado, I did not know that either. I have great gaps in knowledge about, well, everything. Actually that reminds me...I used to work as a secretary for a law firm, and soon after I was hired I learned we had a "fruitcake file." Of course, I thought it was oddball clients, but no, it was everyone he'd sent fruitcakes to over the years.
Isn't Georgia also famous for its fruitcakes? They could use control-V to mass-replace "Peachtree" in all their designations with "Fruitcake." I don't think anyone would have a problem with this.
Have to say, I didn't know that...never heard of peaches being valued higher from those places than from Georgia. Nevertheless, I still think you're stuck with the peach association, and it started because it was famous for the fruit.
Also Georgia is more famous for our use of the name “Peach” in our roads and city names and marketing than we are for our actual peaches. California and South Carolina are further ahead in Peach production. And New Jersey peaches are far better.
My experience with Atlanta is that the "dismembered remains" districts are by far the most interesting.
